Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the AgriHQ Limited (AgriHQ) websites, farmersweekly.co.nz farmersweeklyjobs.co.nz or agrihq.co.nz and all of its related websites (“Sites”) and the information technology systems and networks relating to the Sites. In this Policy, any references to “Farmers Weekly”, are to “AgriHQ Limited”, its related companies, and all of their respective directors, officers, agents, employees or contractors.

Non-Personal Information

When you use the Sites, systems and networks, our server, our agent’s or contractor’s server, and third parties in the internet infrastructure (“Servers”) log certain information, which is provided by your browser, such as:

  • your server’s IP address (a number which is unique to the machine through which you are connected to the Internet) or your personal IP address;

  • the type of browser and operating system you are using; 

  • the domain name of the referring site; and

  • emails between you and us.

The Servers also log:

  • the date and time of your visit; and

  • the URL address of the pages accessed and the documents downloaded.

  • interactions with our Sites

We use this information for a number of purposes connected with the usage of our Sites, and to monitor the security of our Sites, systems and networks. Among other possible uses, AgriHQ may use this information to analyse certain trends and statistics, such as which parts of the Sites users are visiting and how long they spend there, and to monitor the security of our Sites, systems and networks.

AgriHQ will not try to identify you or your browsing activities through the information set out above except, in the event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the logs or if your usage is causing technical issues for the Site that may need to be resolved. AgriHQ may in these circumstances identify your IP address in order to contact you.

Cookies

The Sites use cookies. A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. The Sites use cookies to help AgriHQ identify and track visitors, their usage of the Sites, and their Site access preferences. AgriHQ may use cookies for purposes including tailoring our services to meet your needs. Visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using the Sites, with the drawback that certain features of the Sites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

AgriHQ uses Google Analytics to analyse the use of the Sites. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect, store, and transmit information about your use of the Site to Google. AgriHQ also uses the Google Analytics Display Advertising feature ‘Demographics and Interests Reporting’ which enables Google Analytics to collect data about the age, gender and interests of visitors to our Sites via cookies and anonymous identifiers. Google will collect, store, and use this information to create statistical reports about the use of the Sites.

AgriHQ has enabled Google Analytics, Advertising Features on our websites. This allows us to use Remarketing with Google Analytics through Google AdWords and allows us to pull Display Network Impression Reporting, Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting and also Integrated services that require Google Analytics to collect data via advertising cookies and anonymous identifiers.

We use these cookies to remember your most recent searches/webpages on our site and your previous interactions so we can make our Google AdWords advertising more engaging and relevant to something you may be interested in.

Personal Information

Provide Details: When you access AgriHQ’s services, you may be asked to voluntarily provide your name, contact information, age, gender, ethnicity, industry type, farm type and size, occupation and involvement in farming. Farmers Weekly may not be able to provide you these services if you do not provide these details.

Subscription emails: By providing AgriHQ with your email address and selecting the option to receive emails you consent to receive emails from AgriHQ or it’s associated brands that relate to your subscription, and to any functions of the subscription you choose (whether by express or implied consent). AgriHQ may send you information based on the parts of the Sites that you visit.

AgriHQ collects and holds personal information about you through your use of the Sites, including your registration details and information relating to your use of the Sites and the content you access.

AgriHQ collects this information for the purposes of conducting market research surveys, conducting statistical analysis of usage of the Sites, running competitions, determining advertising content, marketing, monitoring the security if Site, our IT systems and our networks and tailoring our services to match your needs and improving the Sites generally. AgriHQ requires this information in order to offer customers subscriptions and to understand our audience for advertising and content customisation purposes.

The personal information collected by AgriHQ will be held in third party data centres, and may be shared with third party organisations for security purposes. AgriHQ may share this information with clients who advertise with us in order to prove certain demographics of our audience. The information is shared as high level reporting and never individual submissions. 

AgriHQ will only use such personal information for the purpose for which you have provided it, unless you consent otherwise or AgriHQ is required by law to disclose it or AgriHQ is otherwise permitted to use it under the Privacy Act 1993.

AgriHQ will not sell your personal information to, or share it with, any other company outside of the AgriHQ group or third party agency other than as set out in this Privacy Policy, except as permitted by law. AgriHQ will disclose such personal information about you only to those employees of AgriHQ on a need to know basis.

You can access or request a correction to your personal information by writing to AgriHQ at PO Box 529, Feilding, or by sending an email to subs@agrihq.co.nz AgriHQ will correct personal information if we are satisfied that it is incorrect and will otherwise comply with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1993.
